This year 3rd graders are earning badges!
Back to School
It feels good to receive recognition for a job well done! In 3rd grade, when students master a complicated skill or successfully perform grade-appropriate tasks, they are awarded a badge—to highlight their good work! These badges are printed on "brag tags" that students collect and display in our room. On Fridays, Students wear their brag tags around school and spend some time recounting their accomplishments to others!

This year, students can show off their badges at home using their very own virtual badge page! Parents and students alike can access student badge pages by clicking the link "badges" in the menu above and clicking on the student's name!

How do I earn badges? Badges are earned in different ways. Some badges like "Helping Others" and "Amazing Answers" are achieved when a student earns enough dojo points. Other badges have to be awarded manually by your teacher. (These might include passing a times table fact check, or scoring a 100 on your test!) Some badges are updated daily. Others are updated weekly. Sometimes a student will receive a secret code in class that they can then use to unlock a new badge!

Can I... "earn them all?"
Luckily for you over-achievers, there are many extra (even secret!) achievements that you can earn over the course of this year! When you earn an extra (or a hidden) badge, your teacher will give you a secret code to type in here. Although you probably won't earn every badge possible, it can be a lot of fun to try!
